Department Approval: <br />.��-,� _�� <br />. �•�• . <br />r• <br />Ite1T1 �i <br />�� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCII, ACTION <br />Manager Reviewed: <br />� <br />�.�-�� �° ���•. <br />DATE: 3/8/2006 <br />ITEM NO.: 3.f <br />Agenda Section: <br />Receive Feasibility Report/ Schedule Public Improvement Hearing for <br />County Road C Reconstruction & Streetscape Project Phase II <br />Background: On December 5,2005, the City Council ordered the preparation of a feasibility report <br />for the reconstruction of County Road C, between Snelling Service L�ri{-� and Oxford Street. <br />In accordance with City Council direction, a feasibility report has been prepared that details the <br />proposed design, neighborhood impact, and estimated cost of the proposed County Road C <br />Reconstruction project. Copies of the completed feasibility reports are attached. The next step in the <br />process is for the Council to accept the feasibility report and to schedule public hearings. <br />Financial implications: This proj ect has maj or financial implications for the city including the <br />following: <br />County Road C Street Reconstruction Proj ect- Phase I� <br />Assess a portion of the cost to properties that access County Road C. <br />Begin construction of the County Road C Reconstruction Project in spring 2006. <br />Schedule a public hearing for March 27,2006. <br />2. County Road C Streetscape Project- Phase II <br />• Complete all proj ect development, including plan preparation in 2006. <br />• Develop streetscape improvements to a level as directed by City Council. <br />• Use Federal funds to pay for the maj ority of the construction costs. <br />• Begin construction of the County Road C Streetscape either late 2006 or in Spring 2007 <br />depending on the County's construction schedule. <br />Staff recommendation: It is recommended that public hearings for the County Road C <br />Reconstruction and streetscape Project Phase II be scheduled at the regular City Council meeting on <br />Monday, March 27,2006, at 6:00 p.m. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Adoption of a resolution receiving the feasibility report and scheduling public improvement hearings for <br />the County Road C Reconstruction and Streetscape Proj ect Phase Zl for March 27,2006, at 6:0� p.m. <br />Prepared by: Debra Bloom <br />
