REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />DepartmentApproval: <br />TP/DPW <br />[' ii y �•�� n.�cr <br />r :'�C. ��� <br />r r�o-� �t: <br />.��� <br />DATE: 03/27/06 <br />TTEM NO: 4.e <br />Agenda Sectioa�: <br />CONSENT <br />Item Descxiba.o�: Reauest by Citv of Roseville_ for a 60-dav Ulan review extension (from <br />the ea�d of the current p��o� of �pr�l S, ��MO� to June S, 200G), regarding <br />Speedway SuperAmerica application for an AMENDED <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT related to canopy signage, for 2295 <br />�icc � �r�e � �lxF' �7I1�- <br />1.0 REQUESTED ACTION: <br />1.1 The City of Roseville is seel�ing an extension to the 60-day review deadline (from April <br />8,2006) to June 8,2006 for the application by SuperAmerica for an AMENDED <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT to allow the installation of fuel canopy signage at 2295 <br />Rice Street. <br />2.0 BACKGROUND: <br />2.1 The application was submitted to the Community Development Department on February <br />7,2006; determined complete on February 10,2006; forwarded to the Planning <br />Commission for action on March 1, 2006; and has a 60 day review deadline of April 8, <br />2006. <br />2.2 During the review of the proposed request, the Commission indicated confusion over how <br />signage was calculated by the City Planner and instructed staff to recalculate and forward <br />the recommendation of approval to the City Council. However, the City Planner <br />concluded that there were a few errors in the project report that needed to be clarified <br />prior to the recommendation being forwarded to the Council. Specifically the subject <br />property is located in the B-2, Retail Business District and not the B-1, Limited Business <br />District as indicated in the report and which district allows a greater amount of overall <br />wall signage. The City Planner also confirmed existing and proposed signage, which <br />square footage was greater than previously indicated to the Commission. <br />23 Given the necessary clarifications for the Planning Commission to support the requested <br />AMENDED CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT. the Planning Commission will review this <br />item at their April 5,2006 meeting — hence an extension of the April 8, review deadline is <br />� <br />3.1 <br />necessary. <br />SUGGESTED ACTION: <br />ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVIl�TG up to a 60-day extension of the Speedway <br />SuperAmerica request. <br />�F�� ] ] _�� � �4�wti•�a+aaw��� !}3j 3��,� Page 1 of 1 <br />
