This project is a shared project with the City of Falcon <br />Heights and is the complete reconstruction of the road between Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue. <br />We opened bids for this project on Wednesday, March 22,2006 at 3:00 pm. <br />Policy objectives: Based on past practice, the City Council has awarded the contract to the lowest <br />responsible bidder. In the case of Roselawn Avenue Reconstruction, the lowest bidder is Forest Lake <br />Contracting of Forest Lake, Minnesota. This award will be contingent on the City of Falcon Heights City <br />Council's approval of the bid. The next Falcon Heights City Council meeting is April 12. <br />Financial implications: We received five bids for Raselawn Avenue Reconstruction. The low bid <br />submitted by Forest Lake Contracting, $837,872.05, is 20% lower than the Engineer's construction <br />estimate of $997,164.00.
