REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 04/ 1 Q/06 ITEM NO.: 3.m Department ApprovaL• Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: � r ' �� { k��. • �� � � � Item Description: Approve an Agreement between the City of Falcon Heights and the City of Roseville for 2006 Contract C Background: The 2006 Contract C consists of Mill and Overlay, reconstruction, and sidewalk work. Some of this work is solely located in Falcon Heights. As such, it is necessary to have an agreement laying out individual City responsibilities for this reconstruction contract. The City of Roseville is taking the lead on this project for engineering services including contract administration and construction management. This project will be developed using in-house staff. A construction agreement is necessary to detail the terms and responsibilities of this cooperative project. This agreement will split the costs for the project between the two cities according to the individual project segments. See attached proposed agreement (Attachment A). Financial Implications: Each City will pay for the portion of the project construction within their City boundaries. The segments of the project within Falcon Heights are; St. Mary's Street mill and overlay, Ties sidewalk replacement and miscellaneous sidewalk repair. Roseville will perform the engineering services in accordance with our Joint Powers agreement for engineering services with Falcon Heights. — Policy Objectives: The attached agreement delineates project and payment responsibilities — related to the project. City policy is to cooperate with adjacent cities for mutual benefit — whenever possible.
