Date: �.�;'�?+�� <br />Item: 10. <br />�ouncilmember Initiated <br />Agenda Zte�ns <br />Proposed Council Resolution <br />WHEREAS; the ability of council menlbers to place iteins on the council's agenda is an <br />i��nportant tool for council ineinbers to fulfill their roles as elected officials, and <br />WHEREAS; the ability of t��e council and staff to effectively �nai�age their worl� load and <br />to properly consider �tezaas appearing before ihezx� requires tl�at they receive sufficient <br />notice of agenda items; <br />THEREFORE; be it resolved that couz�czl x-��einbers l�.a�e the right to place i#e�ns on the <br />agcnda as follows: <br />A couz�.cil member may, at a council meeting, request that an ite��t be �laced on a <br />future council agcnda, or; <br />A council me��ae�- z��ay i�lake a request for an agenda itezn outside of a council <br />meeting hy su�rnit�i��� an e�nai� request to ihe city n�ar�ager; witl� a copy of the e�i�ail to <br />the other council members, no later than noon of the Wednesday preceding the council <br />meeting. That agenda item will be included oi� the agenda for the next council meeting <br />under the heading "Future Council Agenda Items," but will not be an action item. The <br />itexn will become a regular council agenda item (i.e., for discussion and action) at the <br />subsequent council meeting, or; <br />A council �neinbex nzay request the addition of an e���e�-gez�cy agenda item at the <br />saa�e aneeti�lg at which the it��ii is to be addressed. However, the addition of an <br />emergency agenda iten� shall require the approval of 2/3's of the council m�mbers <br />present. <br />
