<br />(b) The owner may obtain an appraisal by a qualified appraiser of the property
<br />proposed to be acquired. The owner is entitled to reimbursementfor the reasonable costs
<br />of the appraisal from the acquiring authority up to a maximum of $1,500 '
<br />a#�e�#�e_for sinale family and �������} residential propertv and minimum damage
<br />acquisitions and $5,000 for �9�n�r iyp�s of property,provided that the owner submits to
<br />the acquiring authority the information necessary for reimbursement,
<br />including a co�y of the owner's a�praisal, at least five da sy before
<br />a condemnation commissior�ers' hearina. For purposes of this �araara�h. a"minimum
<br />da�n a�� acauisition" means an interest in properiv that a qualified person �Fk� a�praisa�
<br />kaawiedqe indicates can be ��quir��, F�r, a���t �� �1���a� or less.

<br />days after receiving a cop�y af the a�praisal and the ��� �� ����a�!� Upon
<br />�reemeni between the_acquiring authority and the own� the acq. uiring authority mav Q��
<br />the reimbursement directly to the ap�raiser.
<br />Subd. 3. Negotiation. In addition to the appraisal requirements under subdivision 2,
<br />before commencing an eminent domain proceeding, the acquiring authority must make a
<br />good faith attempt to negotiate personally with the owner of the property in order to
<br />acquire the property by direct purchase instead of the use of eminent domain proceedings.
<br />In making this negotiation, the acquiring authority must considerthe appraisals in its
<br />possession�in�fudi�g �r��r ap�ra�sal obtained and furnished bv the �vner-.if available..
<br />and other information that may be relevant to a determination of damages under this
<br />chapter. If the acq�irina authority is considerinq both a full and �ar#ia! takinq of the
<br />property. the ��q�trFng authority must make a caoo�-faith �iiem,p� �� n�o�iai� with res�ect
<br />to both types of takinqs,
