Date: 07/24/06 <br />Item: S.i <br />Heart-Safe Community <br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ak �k �r {r �F {� � {r �F i,• �Y •k �• �4• •k �4 tiF <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Rarz�sey, Minnesota was duly held on the ��'�' day of July, 2006, <br />at 6:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: none. <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION No. <br />Declaring Roseville to be a Heart Safe Community and <br />Authorizing the Fire Department to Solicit Donations, Conduct Community CPR <br />Classes and to Purchase and Place AEDs in the Community <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Fire Department and Allina Hospitals and Clinics have <br />partnered to improve the quality of inedical care for Roseville residents <br />and visitors: and <br />WHEREAS, the American Heart Association statistics show that early CPR and early use <br />of an AEI� are proven to significantly impact the successful outcome of <br />sudden cardiac arrest victims; and <br />WHEREAS, the fire department has identified the need to purchase AEDs for placement <br />in police 8� fire vehicles and public buildings, and <br />WHEREAS, the fire department and Allina are interested in training Roseville residents <br />in CPR and the use of AEDs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville City Council declares <br />Roseville to be a"Heart Safe Community" and authorize the fire <br />department to solicit donations to conduct community CPR classes and to <br />purchase and place AEDs in the community. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />, and upon a vote being talcen thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: none. <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
