REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 8/ 14/2006 <br />Item No: 4.e <br />f���r[�ntr5[ A�nr�i��;�l : i4�{Gria�r�r A ppL�k'�d: .��11�.L� ���ii��: <br />� —� <br />� � � ��'�� _- <br />�.anserrt <br />Item Description: Consider Approving a Lease Agreement with Cingular Wireless for Leasing <br />Space on the Reservoir Woods Tower <br />Background <br />Over the past several months, City Staff has been in discussions with Cingular Wireless which <br />intends to locate their wireless antenna on the existing Reservoir Woods Tower located at 1901 <br />Alta Vista Drive. The discussions are now complete and are encompassed in the attached Lease <br />Agreement. The Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney, and awaits Council <br />approval. <br />City Staff have also reviewed and approved the site plan for the equipment that will be located <br />near the base of the tower. The base equipment will be enclosed within an existing fenced in <br />area. <br />Discussion Items <br />The attached lease agreement with Cingular is consistent with prior wireless lease agreements <br />and reflects current market conditions. The lease calls for the following: <br />L� Five year initial term, commencing September 1,2006, and ending September 1,2011 <br />Ct Cingular has the right to renew the lease for four (4) additional five-year terms subject <br />to terms of the original lease. <br />� Cingular shall pay the City annual rent of $22,000 per year, with automatic increases of <br />3% per annum. <br />Cingular's antenna equipment will be mounted on the tower at approximately 110 feet above <br />ground level. The tower itself is 150 feet tall. <br />Attachments <br />a) Attachment A—Lease Agreement with Cingular Wireless <br />Council Action Requested <br />Motion to approve the Lease Agreement with Cingular Wireless, for leasing space at the existing <br />Reservoir Woods Tower site. <br />
