It was the consensus that the Commission needed to make recommendations based on seeking to preserve, update and acquire where possible; provide good metrics; and quantify the information provided to the City Council to allow them to make informed decisions. Chair Johnson thanked the City Council for the opportunity to meet and expressed the Commission's willingness to receive the City Council's input for tasking their workload and welcomed individual Councilmembers to attend Commission meetings as their schedules allowed. Recess Recess Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately '1:2� p.m. and reconvened at 7:�4 p.m. l.c Announcement of Visioning Steering Committee's Appointments to Visioning Su�-Committees Finance Director Chris Miller advised of the Community Visioning Sub-Committees participants and topic areas identified from the brainstorming sessions, as outlined in the report dated July 10, 2006; attached hereto and made a part thereof. Mr. Miller advised that several of the Sub- committees would begin meeting later this week and then would develop their meeting schedules and select co- chairs. Councilmember Ihlan addressed several questions regarding the composition of the Sub-Committees, specifically involvement of a representative of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, and whether there were any other members on the Sub-Committees who were not Roseville residents. Councilmember Ihlan opined that this was to be a community visioning process, and questioned why non-residents were included. Councilmember Ihlan sought additional time for discussion rather than taking action at tonight's meeting.
