Nays: None. 4.i Approve an Agreement with Bonestroo, Rosene and Anderlik for Engineering Services for a Slab and Bleacher Heating System at the Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL Interim City Manager Miller reviewed the request for the City to enter into an agreement with the firm that in 1994 had completed plans and specifications for a slab and bleacher heating system near the bleacher seating area and where the Zamboni exits the building. Mr. Miller advised that the City had incurred many dollars in workers compensation costs over the past several years due to slips and falls, as well as injuries to patrons. Mr. Miller advised that those plans had been put on hold as operational issues and maintenance of the chiller became apparent. Mr. Miller noted that, with the chiller system back in operation, this priority item had been returned for Council consideration. Mr. Miller �urther noted that the project was estimated to be in excess of $50,000 and would require a formal bidding process. Mr. Miller advised that the money for consultant services, as well as the construction costs, was proposed to be taken from the City Risk Management Fund. Councilmember Ihlan clarified that staff rationale for proposing the firm of Bonestroo, Rosene and Anderlik was due to their preparation of the original plans and specifications; and questioned rationale for funds from the City Risk Management Fund. Mr. Miller advised that staff opined that the proposed firm would only need to update their original plans and specifications, thus saving money in not having to seek Requests for Proposals (RFP's} from other firms.
