Date: 91111(X Item: S.c Recognition o f Patriot's Day EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ,� * r r �r ,r * w w w�,r w �r ,r •k �r Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 11 ��` day of September, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. The following members were present: and the following were absent: none. Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION No. Resolution in Recognition of Patriot's Day, 2006. WHEREAS, this day marks the fifth anniversary of the attacks on our nation on September 11, 2001, resulting in the loss of thousands of innocent lives; and, WHEREAS, the victims and families who lost loved ones remains in the hearts and prayers of Rosevi�Ze residents, and our nation; and, WHEREAS, we remember the courage and dedication of the hundreds of firefighters, police officers, ambulance personnel, and scores of private citizens who, in the process of showing us the true meaning of heroism, laid down their lives; and, WHEREAS, the United States Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville pauses to remember the impact this event has had on our city and our nation; to honor the dedication of Roseville's firefighters and police officers, knowing their willingness to serve our citizens with honor and bravery gives all of us peace of mind; and to thank the men and women of our armed forces who have given their lives, and those who continue to serve to keep our country safe from terror. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member , and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: none. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
