City Council Regular Meeting — 08/28/06
DRAFT Minutes - Page 16
Additional Public Comment
Joni MacDmnad, 3030 Hmiin Avenue N
Ms. MacDonald opined her lack of support for twin homes, and
her support for single-family homes, preferably larger homes on
larger lots.
Eeris Fritz, 2922 Hamlin Avenue N
Ms. Fritz thanked the developer for eliminating the proposed
four-plex; and opined the need for upgraded, higher quality
single-family homes in Roseville. Ms. Fritz noted the location of
Roseville, ease of commute to either downtown, quality of life in
Roseville, and community amenities. Ms. Fritz spoke in support
of an office building development as well, being another
desirable option providing for a mixeduse need.
Tim Callahan, 3062 Shorewood Lane
Mr. Callahan expressed concerns with the proposed
development, and asked for additional information on traffic
counts on Hamline and Lydia Avenues and whether Hamline
Avenue would need to be upgraded with traffic lights and or
widened roadway to accommodate increased traffic.
Mr. Calahan also expressed concern regarding single-family
home elevations, ponding depth, drainage area and driveway
slopes, and how overall site drainage would be handled.
Michael Fishbach, 2895 Hamline Avenue N
Mr. Fishbach noted that his family had just added onto their
home, as they liked the neighborhood; and opined that he would
prefer to see larger, single-family homes remain in the
neighborhood, rather than multiple unit town homes. Mr.
Fishbach also expressed concern regarding additional traffic on
Hamline Avenue.
Mayor Klausing ended public comment at this time and thanked
everyone for their input.
Councilmember Pust opined her preference for referring the case
back to the Planning Commission.
