�� <br />� <br />�� � , � � � <br />Erosion Control Permit <br />Information Handout <br />Purpose: In order to ensure that contractors are keeping sediment out of the City's storm sewer pipes, <br />ponds and lakes, it is necessary for Public Works Staff to inspect construction sites after a rain event or <br />at least once a week. The staff time spent on the inspection will vary depending on the size of the <br />construction site. For <br />more information go to I�ttp://�vww.t�ca.stat�.i����.us/water/stoi-���waterlindex.ht�nl <br />• Prior to site grading, and before any construction starts, the erosion control plan shall be <br />implemented, inspected and approved by the CITY. No construction activity will be allowed unless <br />the site erosion control is in place. <br />• The applicant assumes all responsibilities for installation and maintenance of the erosion control on <br />this site. Any problems identified by the City erosion control inspector shall be addressed within 48 <br />hours of notification. The applicant understands that failure to install and maintain erosion control <br />within the time allotted will result in a stop work order for the site. <br />• If the permit holder does not comply with the erosion control plan or supplementary instructions <br />received from the City, the City may take such action as it deems appropriate to control erosion. <br />• All basement ancllor foundation excavation spoil piles shall be kept completely off city right-of-way <br />and shall be completely surrounded with an approved erosion control silt fence. <br />• Except as otherwise provided in the erosion control plan, seed shall be rye grass or other �ast- <br />growing seed suitable to the existing soil to provide a temporary ground cover as rapidly as <br />possible. <br />• Sod is required on all slopes greater than ten percent (10%) gradients or as directed by the <br />Engineer. <br />• All seeded areas shall be mulched and disc anchored as necessary for seed retention. <br />• Street sweeping shall be performed at least weekly to remove sediment tracked onto City streets <br />.
