The questions and our responses are as follows:
1. What are the standards fo corner radii at intersections of collector roadways?
The Institute of TransportationEng,ees recommends the followi three corner
radii at different types of street tersecions:
. 20 feet at intersections of two local streets
. 25 feet at intersections of a local street with a collector street
. 30 feet at intersections of a collector street with a"major" street
To supplement these published guidelines, I would offer our experience on a
recent proj ect for the City of Tops. We examined one particular intersection
regarding its ability to accommodate right [n maneuvers by school buses. We
found that the existing 15 foot radius was insufficient and needed to be increased
to 30 feet to adequately accommodate right turn maneuvers by the school buses.
2. Could we provide copie.s f T° .rliar charts we applied toproj ect the
future daily volume on S'rc r: 3kata Acres development?
