REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: 10/23/2006 Item No: 8. Department Approval: �� Manager �� Agenda Section: Consent Agenda Item Description: Adopting a Resolution to Support Applications for Environmental Cleanup Grants on Behalf of the Mounds View School District Background At the September 11, 2006 City Council meeting the Council approved a preliminary plat, rezoning, and general concept planned unit development for the property located at 2959 HamZine Avenue. This site was formerly occupied by the Mounds View Schools District offices, and is known to have soil and groundwater contamination. During this meeting, representatives from the Mounds View School District advised the Council that they would be seeking City assistance in applying for environmental cleanup grants. Attached to this memo is a resolution asl�ing the City of Roseville to act as the legal sponsor for the purposes of submitting grant applications to the following agencies: C� MN Department of Employment and Economic Development I� Raz�sey County � Metropolitan Council Copies of the grant application materials are attached. Discussion Items The Final version of the grant application materials will be reviewed by City Staff and the City Attorney. This process of serving as a legal sponsor is similar to the support the City recently lent to Central Community Housing Trust for renovations to the �€�r Mar Apartments.
