In 2004 Council began moving to a more equal contribution per employee, regardless of the <br />employee's family status and lifestyle choices. Some small steps have been taken toward <br />equalization. It was also found through a survey that the majority of staff participating in the <br />survey wanted equalization as well. <br />Therefore, the committee in lool�ing at current plan design as well as future struggles to keep <br />premiums affordable yet minimize potential deductible risks as much as possible the staff <br />recommends approving the following 2007 monthly cafeteria contribution levels: <br />9 Opt Out: $345 moving toward equalization. <br />➢ The staff recommends moving toward consumer driven health and big picture <br />future planning tbus those that stay on the 100% plan �voald not receive an increase: <br />Single: $411 <br />■ Single + 1: $525 <br />■ Family: $735 <br />� Those on the 80% and High DeductiblePlans would receive: <br />� Single: $506 <br />■ Single + 1: $634 <br />Family: $825 <br />�= Those on the 80% and High Deductible Plans would also have part of their monthly <br />contributions deposited into a Health ReimbursementAccount as follows: <br />• $U%Plan Monthly HRA Deposit: <br />� Single $62 (increase of $21) <br />� Single + 1 $70 (increase of $26) <br />� Family $50 (increase of $16) <br />High Deductible Plan Monthly T��2A. Deposit: <br />� Single $100 (increase of$0) <br />� Single + 1 $62 (increase of $18) <br />� Family $52 (increase of $13) <br />Dental Renewal: <br />After review of the 2006 claims in comparison with premiums brought in and the marketplace, <br />the Benefits and �'el�nes� Committee and the Delta dental claims professionals recommend <br />staying self insured with Delta dental again this year with only a rounding increase in rates <br />which amounts to a about sixty cents per month only in the family plan. This has no financial <br />impact to the City. <br />Lon� Term Disabilitv: <br />The City will go into the second and final year of their contract with Assurant. The contract <br />provides for no increases in rates for 2007. No change in coverage was made to the plan. <br />
