Department Approval:

REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
'jili]:LL'C`f :'kf{}kii3:

Item Description: Consider Setting the 2007 Meeting Calendar
Date: 11/13/2006
Item No: 13.
Agenda Section:
Staff Report
Background
The City Council is asked to establish the 2007 Meeting Calendar to ensure sufficient
notification through the Roseville City News, local cable channel 16, and other media outlets.
Establishing the meeting calendar also provides Staff and opportunity to schedule, in advance, a
number of community events in a manner that won't conflict with official Council meetings.
Historically, the Council has scheduled regular council meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of
the month, and council worksessions on the 3rd Monday of each month. For consistency
purposes, it is recommended that the Council retain this format, with some noted exceptions
shown below.
Council Meeting Date Exceptions
The following dates present conflicts to the Council's regular meeting schedule:
. January 15th - Martin Luther King Jr. Day (which will require the use of the 5" Monday)
February 19th - President's Day (study session will cancelled)
• June 25th - Rosefest Parade (regular meeting will be cancelled)
. December 3- Truth in Taxation Hearing (set by State Statute — 15 Monday in December)
A draft of the 2007 Meeting Calendar is attached below. Please note that it does not contain any
special meetings that the Council may choose to set.
Request for Council Action
Motion approving the 2007 Meeting Calendar
