Consider Appointment Process for Filling the Vacant Position on the Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission Mayor Klausing acknowledged the letter of resignation dated October 5, 2006 from Doug Wilke, Chair and member of the City's Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission (PWET), effective Thursday, September 28,2006. Mayor Klausing, and individual Councilmembers thanked Mr. Wilke, and regretfully accepted his retirement, acknowledging and publicly thanking Mr. Wile for his years of service to the community, encouraging his return after a brief respite. Interim City Manager and Finance Director Chris Miller sought Council direction on the application process, noting that in November and December, the City Council would be discussing with all advisory commission incumbents their desire to continue serving, as well as advertising for vacancies. Mr. Miller noted that another vacancy may exist at that time, with term expiration, and suggested the Council may wish to fill all vacancies in March. Mr. Miller noted that discussions with Mr. Sehwa:c-��, as well as PWET Vice Chair Ernie Willenbring provided for this option. It was Council consensus that the vacancy remain open at this time until it was known if another vacancy would exist. 14. Appoint Two Members to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) Mayor Klausing noted the impressive pool of applicants for the two vacancies on the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA), evident during recent interviews.
