The project includes two areas of interest 1) a multi purpose facility (includingpermanent restrooms) and 2) a oriental theme garden. The total cost of the project is estimated at $500,000. Funding a project of this magnitude is a challenge. The Foundation is financially capable of contributing $200,000 toward the project and looks to the Commission for direction and advice on how to proceed for the balance of the funding. In light of recent PIP reductions, it would be very difficult to fund the remaining portion of this project with Parks and Recreation resources. What other possible fianding sources are there for a project like this? Motion or Recommendation: Recommend the Roseville City Council consider the conce�t of a Roseville Muriel Sahlin Arboretum developmentproject that includes a rnur�i purpose/restr�oo�n facility and oriental theme ga�derz and explore ways to fund the project without using PIP funds. Motion amended by R. Willmus, second by M. Kamrath. Motion passed unanimously, Pederson abstained. Roseville CP Foundation president Monte Johnson presented the project concept plan to the Parks and Recreation Commission for their review and input. The CP Foundation strives to maintain Central Park's position as the crown jewel of the Roseville Parks and Recreation System and are interested to continue on with the original three part phased development at the Arboretum which included a focal piece fountain, a formal e��r�way and an oriental theme garden.
