Commissioners are appointed to terms that begin April 1 of each year. Staff contacted <br />eligible commissioners and asked them to submit a new application if they are interested <br />in serving a second term. Staff also requested letters of recommendations from the <br />Chairs of the appropriate Commissions. <br />On December 20, the Council set January 10 to review applications and re-appoint <br />Commissioners and/or request interviews. <br />This RCA includes applications for: <br />. Richard Houck, Police Civil Service; and <br />• Doug Will�e, Public Works. <br />This RCA also includes a letters of recommendation for: <br />. Richard Houcl�, Police Civil Service. <br />Council Action Rec�uested: <br />1. Whether at least two Councilmembers want staff to schedule Mr. Houck and/or <br />Mr. Will�e for interviews (per your decision on December 20, interviews would be <br />January 24 beginning at 5:00). <br />2. If Council does not wish to re-interview the two applicants for reappointment that <br />a motion to reappoint Mr. Houck andJor Mr. Will�e is in order. <br />3. Regardless of # 1 and #2, Council is asked to authorize staff to advertise for the <br />following available positions with the 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, deadline for <br />applications: <br />2 Human Rights Commissioners; <br />2 Parks and Recreation Commissioners; <br />• 1 Planning Commissioner; <br />. 1(possibly 2) Police Civil Service Commissioner; and <br />. 1(possibly 2) Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commissioner. <br />
