Minnesota 55116 <br />Mr. Madden and Members of the Foundation, <br />On behalf of the Roseville Police Department, I would like to thank you for the Foundation's generous <br />donation of $5,000.00. <br />The Foundation's gift has come at an exciting and challenging time. The police department has been <br />faced with a number of unexpected technical upgrades in 2004 and 2005. We are in the process of <br />purchasing and installing a new records management system and a wireless internetaccess that allows <br />officers on the street to immediately retrieve critical information. Within the next twelve months, the <br />department will also be converting to 800 MHz� joint effort with Ramsey County law enforcement <br />agencies. <br />As with any project of such magnitude, there have certainly been and will continue to be "hidden" costs. <br />Members of the Foundation can rest assured the police department will use these funds in the most <br />effectual manner to support the police department's mission which states: <br />We are committedto work as a team with othercity departments, governmentagencies, <br />and our community to provide innovative, effective, and efficient service to improve the <br />quality oflife in the City of Roseville. <br />Our department continually strives to provide the best possible service to the citizens of Roseville and <br />the many people who work or visit this communityon any given day, and our greatest reward is the <br />acknowledgementof a job well done. <br />I would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank you and formally invite you and other <br />members of the Foundation to the January 31, 2005, Roseville City Council meeting.
