City Council Regular Meeting — O1/31/05 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 23 <br />Councilmember Kough opined that such an action by the <br />Council would provide additional leverage for the residents at <br />the upcoming meeting with Lt. Governor Molnau. <br />Mayor Klausing requested further refinement of the language of <br />the motion prior to consideration at tonight's meeting. <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke in support of the concept, <br />opining that some potential members seemed to be missing from <br />the proposed membership; and further opining that further <br />refinement as to purpose or mission; timeline and urgency of the <br />issue needed further consideration and discussion. <br />Mayor Klausing concurred with Councilmember Schroeder's <br />comments and observations; and opined that other levels of <br />government needed participation in the Task Force. <br />A1 Sands, 2612 Aldine Street <br />Mr. Sands noted the urgency of the issue with the upcoming <br />construction of County Road C and the meeting with <br />Commissioner of Transportation Molnau. <br />Mayor Klausing noted his opposition to the motion with its <br />current format and language. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough and Schroeder. <br />Nays: Maschka, Ihlan and Klausing. <br />Ihlan moved, Maschka seconded, that the City Council hereby <br />resolves to form a Task Force to work together to find possible <br />alternatives of access and egress for the James Addition; and to <br />work toward reopening the closed Snelling/Oakcrest closure at <br />least until the County Road C construction is complete; <br />authorizing the initial proposed Task Force members suggested <br />by Councilmember Kough to begin meeting immediately, with <br />other interested people and agencies for membership expansion <br />included on the February 14, 2005 agenda. <br />Mayor Klausing, while speaking in support of the motion, <br />expressed his concerns with the recurrent theme of action on <br />
