REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: 212812005 Item No: �,G Department Approval: Manager Approved: Agenda Section: .+�. ,�] . � . �r. � C'��13CJ1t ti � •�� • j '�� + � Item Description: Consider Approving a'I �� Jc �h�n� `tic rk i�� Agreement with the Ramsey County Library System (North St. Paul branch) Background Over the past few months, the Ramsey County Library System (North St. Paul branch) and the City of Roseville have held on-going discussions regarding the sharing of telephone service and support. The North St. Paul Library branch recently located to the City of North St. Paul Community Center and is need of telephone service. The North St. Paul Community Center receives its telephone service from the City of Roseville through an established Joint Powers Agreement (JPA). Providing phone service to the Library will essentially be an extension of the existing JPA. However, given the presence of a separate legal entity, both the Ramsey County Library System and the City of Roseville desire to have a separate Agreement outlining the partnership. Discussion Items The City of Roseville currently employs four full-time employees to administer the information and communication systems of Roseville and other partnering organizations. The proposed Services Agreement with the Ramsey County Library System is similar to the agreements with these other partnering organizations. The attached Support Services Agreement has been approved by the Ramsey County Library System and is awaiting approval from the Roseville City Council. Budget Impact The proposed amount of $360 per year will be sufficient to cover the City's added support costs. The Ramsey County Library System will also pay all applicable phone service charges. Council Action Requested Approve the attached Support Services Agreement with the Ramsey County Library System for the purposes of providing telephone service and support.
