Consider a Request by Shafer Contracting Company for an Interim Use Permit for a Temporary Concrete Recycling Area at 2880 Walnut Street (PF 3616) Community Development Director Dennis Welsch presented an Interim Use Permit request, in accordance with City Code Section 1012.09, from Shafer Contracting to establish a temporary concrete recycling (crushing, storage, batch mixing and delivery) area on a triangular piece of vacant property located east of the Meritex building at 2880 Walnut Street, and directly adjacent to Terminal Drive on the north and the Minnesota Commercial rail line on the east. Mr. Welsch advised that area businesses were given due notice, and no comments had been received. [8.1] Kough moved, Schroeder seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10281 entitled, "A Resolution Approving an Interim Use Permit for Meritex and Shafer Contracting at 2880 Walnut Street (PF 3616)." Applewood Pointe — Arona Hamline Neighborhood Connection (PF 3627) Community Development Director Dennis Welsch reviewed the request for use of $68,000 in Metropolitan Council Livable Communities grant funds to complete pathway connections as part of the Arona-Hamline neighborhood Master Plan. Mr. Welsch addressed anticipated maintenance costs of the additional linear feet, as prepared by Public Works maintenance staff.
