Shannon Meyer, President of the Twin Cities North <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Ms. Meyer invited and encouraged the City of Roseville to <br />become a participant in and provided demographic <br />information and an overview of the organization. <br />Mayor Klausing invited Ms. Meyer to provide additional <br />information to City Manager Beets for consideration during <br />2006 budget discussions. <br />B. Rob Hallum, New Mech Companies, St. Paul, MN <br />At the invitation of Councilmember Kough, Mr. Hallum <br />offered his company as an engineering resource for the City <br />Council as they further considered chiller problems at the <br />John Rose OVAL. <br />Councilmember Kough encouraged Councilmembers to <br />fully consider the services offered by Mr. Hallum's firm, at <br />an estimated investigative fee of $2,500 for inspection of <br />the basket, prior to considering whether or not retubing was <br />feasible or the best course of action. Councilmember <br />Kough noted that discussion was scheduled at the March <br />14, 2005 regular Council meeting, at which he would not <br />be in attendance. <br />Discussion included alternatives available; timing of <br />repairs for next season's ice; and possible reasons for the <br />tubes failing due to corrosion of the brine solution. <br />Mayor Klausing questioned whether the Public Comment <br />portion of the meeting was an appropriate time for this <br />discussion; and suggested that Mr. Ha11um submit <br />additional information and a proposal to staff prior to the <br />March 14, 2005 meeting to a11ow staff and the Task Force <br />to review it, both the mechanical and operational Task <br />Forces, prior to Council consideration. <br />Councilmember Schroeder recommended that, if this <br />option was to be considered on March 14, 2005, that the <br />procedures for evaluation in bid form be developed for <br />
