City Council Regular Meeting — 03/14/05
Draft Minutes - Page 8
was ending on March 31, 2005; thus suggesting that the
Vice Chair, due to his seniority and experience, would be a
logical successor, given his vote of confidence by the
remainder of the Commission when they voted for those
internal offices.
Mayor Klausing, as Chair, ruled not to entertain public
comment at this time, given that this was Council business.
Recess Recess
Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately 6:26 p.m.
and reconvened at 6:29 p.m.
Mayor Klausing returned to discussion of Mr. Traynor as
Chair of the Planning Commission; and reviewed
background on the item prior to the recess.
Councilmember Schroeder spoke in opposition to the
motion; opining his preference for tabling the item until
Councilmember Kough was available to vote.
Mayor Klausing opined the appointment was being made
more of an issue than necessary; and questioned whether
the partisan concern was actually the complete issue of
concern.
Councilmember Ihlan agreed in principle with having the
full Council present, but spoke in support of the motion to
appoint Mr. Traynor at this time.
Roll Call
Ayes: Ihlan, Maschka and Klausing.
Nays: Schroeder.
5.
