If the facility was demolished and replaced with <br />either a parking lot or open space, a one-time cost of approximately $250,000 would be incurred. <br />Even without the Oval, an annual contribution of approximately $75,000 in property tax dollars <br />(or other revenue source) would be needed to sustain the Arena and Banquet Center. <br />Finally, demolishing the Oval may disrupt some of the economic and operational synergies that <br />exist between the various components of the Skating Center and the larger Parks & Recreation <br />System (think about the "Economies of Scale" principle — in reverse). This may result in <br />unforeseen financial impacts.
