City Council Regular Meeting — 06/13/OS DRAFT Minutes - Page 11 the June 20, 2005 meeting; and questioned the probable success of a bonding bill, opining other options within the City's own budget may be more viable. Councilmember Maschka advised Councilmembers that he had been doing substantial research on this part of the project; referencing the sample resolution to be considered later in the meeting. Mr. Maschka reviewed the feedback he had received related to periodic bonding, recommending a grouping of various organizations for a one-time annual bonding bill. Further discussion included sales tax and pursuit of foundation dollars. Mayor Klausing advised Chair Jacobson that the Task Force report met the Council's expectations, and thanked everyone involved on the Task Force, including those past elected officials and citizens who have assisted with a historical perspective. Mayor Klausing opined that the Task Force had provided an excellent report and on behalf of the Council, staff and citizens, expressed his appreciation for the quality of the report. John Goedeke, 2674 Virginia Avenue Mr. Goedeke expressed his appreciation to the Task Force; however, cautioned that the City Council may want to carefully pursue the state funding restrictions and legalities of fees for non-residents and residents, given the original state funding received by the City for construction of a re�ional facility. Mr. Goedeke opined that, when the facility was first constructed, an operational advisory group should have been an ongoing group; and strongly encouraged the City Council to appoint such a group now, specifically to pursue marketing of the facility. Mr. Jacobson thanked the City Council for their time and comments; noting they would return at the June 20, 2005 meeting with the formal and final report; requesting the City Council accept the final report and authorize staff to proceed with implementing their recommendations. �
