City Council Regular Meeting — 06/13/OS DRAFT Minutes - Page 13 Redevelopment Authority (HRA) Member Mayor Klausing identified the vacancy on the HRA created by the resignation of Sam Marks, and thanked Mr. Marks for his work to-date on the HRA. City Manager Beets provided a brief overview of State Statute 469.003 related to filling vacancies on HRA,'s. Mayor Klausing opined his support for appointment of a Councilmember to serve on the HRA in an attempt to link the two groups and improve communication. Mayor Klausing recommended the appointment of Councilmember Maschka, given his interests in housing within the community, but was open to Council preference for a Council or citizen appointment through the application process. Councilmember Maschka confirmed his interest in housing as a priority and goal to pursue in the interest of rental housing, apartment safety, code enforcement and public safety delivery; expressed his willingness to serve on the HRA, but was open to citizen application and a��ointmen� as well, depending on Council preference. Councilmember �k�lara questioned the term of the appointment, and whether it coincided with a Councilmember's term of office.
