Point of sale disclosures
2. There is noticeable gap between housing type and price range and household needs. This
imbalance is slowing neighborhood rejuvenation and having negative inpacts on the school
districts that serve Roseville families.
Options for addresszn this issue:
• A mix strategically designed loan programs to acili.tate home improvements and to
bridge financial gaps for first-time homebuyers and seniors
• Development of design options and plans to assist homeowners, particularly for the
elderly and for families wishing to increase their square footage rather than move from
the city or their school district.
. No more senior housing
• Greater City zztez'vention through modifications to lot size and set-back requirements,
subsidies for affordable housing, and land use zoning modifications.
3. In ten to fifteen years, many neighborhoods will experience significant turnover as seniors
leave homes they have lived in for much of their lives and younger families with children
begin to move in. But until this turning point is reached, school districts are in a pattern of
declining enrollment trends and declining need for facilities.
Options for addressing this issue:
■ Developcooperative relationship among the City, the school districts and other partners
to sustain and maintain essential school buildings that will eventually be needed for
classrooms.
■ Work with realtors and the school districts to jointly promote t11 schools and housing to
young families
4. Residents view housing issues as inter-related with other issues, such as transportation and
public works, parks and recreation, and economic development. An integrated approach
ikat offers a"one-stop-shop" for residents would be more productive in reaching desired
outcomes.
Options to address this issue
■ Develop inter-departmental policies to promote neighborhood revitalization and
sustainability
• Cross-train staff who interact with the public in several departments so tley are
knowledgeable and have strong working relationships with staff outside their primary
department
• Host public information sharing meetings that include representatives from the different
departments a city commissions
■ Provide a single point of contact for residents
17oseville RHRA Community Dialo e on Housing ---DREFT--- -
Prepared by the Center for Poiicy, Planning, and Performance
