Don't over regulate <br />• Don't require "code compliance" before sale—bringing a house up to code can be costly; <br />code requirements are sometimes prohibitive and discourage homeowner from making <br />improvements <br />. Housing needs to match desired "customer" <br />• Maj or selling point is " short commute to maj or job centers" — Iess than 3� ring suburbs; <br />attend to the customer who cares about this asset <br />. Counteract "image" of being too expensive (price reductions)—point out that when o$1er <br />costs, such commute, are taken into consideration, Rosevilleis quite affordable. <br />. Residential property tax is " g o o d because of commercial tax base. <br />.
