[471.661] [OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL.] <br />48.17 By January l, 2006, the governing body of each statutory or <br />48.18 home rule charter city, county, school district, regional <br />48.19 agency, or other political subdivision, except a town, must <br />48.20 develop a policy that controls travel outside tY�e sLa�e of <br />48.21 Minnesota for the applicable elected officials of the relevant <br />48.22 unit of government. The policy must be approved by a recorded <br />48.23 vote and specify: <br />48.24 (1} when travel outside the state is appropriate; <br />48.25 (2) applicable expense limits; and <br />48.26 (3) procedures for approval of the travel. <br />48.27 The policy must be made available for public inspection <br />48.28 upon request and reviewed annually. Subsequent changes to the <br />48.29 policy must be approved by a recorded vote. <br />Question#1: Is the council going to allow members to bill in room movies and golf carts <br />to the taxpayers on out of state trips has had been done in the 1990's? <br />Ques�ian#2: Why did the council allow the travel policy to expire that was in force in <br />20Q3? <br />Q�estion#3: Will the-council apply the same policy to staff that it applies to itself, even <br />when Mr. Beets objects? <br />�� , :;� Sec. .a�� � [971 .7Q1 � LSALARY D�iTA_ ] <br />�JB,�� A city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must �• <br />�8,?;e annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries <br />�8_�3 of its three highest-paid employees. This notice may be <br />��„�4 provided on the homepage of the primary Web site maintained by <br />�1�,�� the political subdivision for a period of not less than 90 <br />�8_�#, consecutive days, in a publication of the political subdivision <br />��.'� that is distributed to all residents in the political <br />;^.': subdivision, or as part of the annual notice of proposed <br />I:s.' property taxes prepared under section 275.065. <br />Question#4: Will the council also inform residents about the City Manager's $6,000 new <br />pickup truck allowance, taxpayer paid Rotary Club dues, free meals, and this new <br />request to pay membership in the International City County Managers association? <br />
