1��� E�.� r[ n�{•eE ��i rrw� a I: <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Manager Reviewed: <br />a, : -� <br />��,C���"� '�c��t�L ��' <br />DATE: 8/22/OS <br />ITEM NO.: 3.i <br />Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />Item Description: Award Bid for County Road B-2 Pathway Improvements <br />Background: The City prepared plans and specifications for the construction of a pathway <br />along County Road B-2 between the western Roseville City Limits and Lexington Avenue as <br />approved by the City Council following a public hearing in June, 2004. <br />The final easements for this pathway project were secured in June. The project was advertised <br />for bids during the months of July and August. The bids for Project 98-11 were opened on <br />Monday, August 15. <br />If approved, construction of the pathway will begin within two weeks; and it is anticipated that <br />the majority of construction will be completed this fall. Any remaining restoration items not <br />completed this season will be completed by June, 2006. <br />Policy objectives: Based on past practice, the City Council has awarded the contract to the lowest <br />responsible bidder. In the case of County Road B-2 Pathway Improvements, the lowest bidder is T. <br />A. Schifsky and Sons, Inc. of North St. Paul, Minnesota. <br />Financial implications: The following is a list of the three bids received: <br />BIDDER AMOUNT <br />T. A.
