The department expects to retire one of the canines in early 2006 due to the age of the <br />dog. Hubert and Julianne Thibodeau are residents of Roseville became aware of the expected <br />retirement and have donated $8,000 to cover the expected expenses which will include: procuring <br />the dog, all associated training involving narcotics, searching, apprehension, a new outdoor <br />kennel, leashes and collars. <br />PROPOSED ACTION <br />Allow the police department to accept the funds donated by the Thibodeau family. The <br />Department plans to utilize these funds to cover the costs of replacing a canine. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />Not applicable <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Allow the police department to accept the funds donated by the Thibodeau family. The <br />Department plans to utilize these funds to guarantee the betterment of the police department and <br />community. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Request Council approval to accept the $8000.00 donation from the Thibodeau family <br />
