Date: �������� <br />Item: 1'� <br />HRA Vacancy <br />To: Roseville City Council <br />From: Neal Beets <br />Date: Thursday, September 8,2005 <br />Re: H RA Vacancy <br />The Mayor has asked to discuss a process for filling a new HRA va- <br />cancy. <br />Based on my conversation with the Mayor, he wishes to provide an <br />opportunity for residents to apply for the vacancy. (Attached is a <br />copy of the HRA application used in the past.) Once applications are <br />received, the Mayor would review them and select perhaps the three <br />strongest candidates who would then be interviewed by the entire <br />Council. Based on the interviews, the Mayor would appoint one ap- <br />plicant subject to Council approval. <br />Some background information: <br />1. The vacancy is due to the normal expiration of Ann Hermes <br />term on the HRA. Ms. Hermes has informed HRA Chair Bill Majerus <br />that she is not seeking reappointment. See attached e-mail. <br />2. State law, attached, says the Mayor appoints HRA members <br />subject to Council approval. <br />Neal <br />
