REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 09/26/OS <br />ITEM: 3.i <br />flc � �nrt ����rtia�$t: — �+l�n���r ��rie�c�: ��n�a �c�oa: - <br />� : � <br />Item Description: Approve Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement for the Roselawn and <br />Snelling Avenue intersection. <br />Background: Last year, Ramsey County turned back to the Cities of Roseville and Falcon <br />Heights the segment of Roselawn Avenue from Hamline Avenue to Fulham Street. As a result of <br />that turn back, the Cities have acquired the operation and maintenance responsibilities for the <br />traffic control signal at the intersection of �.ose�awn and Snelling Avenue. <br />Discussion: Costs associated with maintenance of the signal such as relamping, cleaning, <br />painting, replacing luminaries and street lights will be the responsibility of the City of Roseville. <br />The City of Falcon Heights will be responsible for pay all electrical costs for the signal. Finally, <br />the State is responsible for maintain the signing, interconnect, timing, and all other signal and <br />street light maintenance necessary for this signal. <br />These provisions are similar to all other standing signal agreements with NIn1�0'�'. <br />Financial Implications: The City budgets annually for maintenance of traffic control signals for <br />which it is responsible. These agreements are consistent with the budgeted amounts. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends Council approval of this signal maintenance <br />agreement. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Motion to approve Traffic Signal Agreement No. $7752M with MnDOT and Falcon Heights for <br />the Roselawnl Snelling traffic signal. <br />Prepared By: Debra Bloom <br />
