� <br />,.�� ~��: <br />�����I����� �� <br />���#'�� � � #��i�.. <br />��1�1���������� <br />august 2,2oos <br />Mr. Neal Beets <br />Administrator <br />2660 Civic Center Dr <br />Roseville, MN 55113-1815 <br />Re: Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) <br />Dear Mr. Beets: <br />The Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) is dedicated to identifying <br />the common interests of Metro Area cities, and then representing those interests to the <br />Metropolitan Council and the Minnesota Legislature. <br />AMM has served Metro Area cities for over 30 years and boasts 73 members <br />including the core cities, inner-ring suburbs and developing cities in all 7 Metro Area <br />counties. Our largest member city is Minneapolis, population 382,295. Our smallest <br />city is Woodland, population 483. <br />The next three years will be very important for Metro Area cities. In the coming <br />months and years, the Metropolitan Council will be impacting cities in a variety of <br />ways including: <br />• Issuing local system statements <br />� Issuing instructions for completing your 2008 Comprehensive Plan <br />• Implementing its Water Resources Management plan a plan affecting <br />drinking water, storm water and wastewater systems <br />• Modifying the Sewer Access Charge (SAC) system <br />• Initiating significant revisions to its inflow and infiltration (III} policies <br />• Reinvigorating meetings between Chairman Peter Bell and municipal elected <br />officials. <br />As the Metropolitan Council conducts these activities, its members and staff <br />continually consult with AMM. Why?
