REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval: A11ar�� g �r <br />BACKGROUND <br />Date: October 24, 2005 <br />Item No.: 3.e <br />Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />Ite� Description: ACCEPTANCE OF SORENSEN DONATION <br />The police department utilizes the services of three canines to better serve the residents of <br />Roseville. Margaret and Harold Sorensen, residents of Mounds View, MN attended a canine <br />demonstration at a Roseville church on October 13, 2005. After the demonstration, Margaret and <br />Harold expressed interest in donating $50 to the canine program. This money will be used to off <br />set the cost of purchasing a protective sleeve our canine handlers can use to train our canines. <br />PROPOSED ACTION <br />Allow the police department to accept the funds donated by the Sorensen family. The <br />Department plans to utilize these funds to help cover the cost of a training sleeve. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />Not applicable <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Allow the police department to accept the funds donated by the Sorensen family. The <br />Department plans to utilize these funds to guarantee the betterment of the police department and <br />community. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Request Council approval to accept the $50.00 donation from the Sorensen family. <br />
