I find this to be a very bold statement. I'd like to see how staff
has developed this projection. Have they taken lrta the consideration the volatility of commodity
markets and the many special factors that affect them. The city could just as easily realize $0. per year
through a"commodity pricing" based revenue sharing plan. 1 hope you will question staff on this.
At the August 22, 2005 council meeting, the council ignored the recommendation ofthe Rpsile'S PWET
commission to solicit single sort recycling providers. Instead the council directed Mr. Pratt to go forward
with an RFP that he borrowed from the City of Maplewood. This is the same RFP that Maplewood used to
select Eureka Recycling as that cities provider starting in 2006. Why would the council not direct staff to
prepare an RFP that is drafted for the City of Roseville?
Thank you,
Bob Wilimus
■
