Section 3. HRA Housing Goals <br />Through a series of study sessions the HRA reviewed the housing needs <br />assessment of the City as well as the Vista 2000 Report and the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. Through that process the HRA identified the following <br />housing goals that directly relate to achieving the Housing Vision Statement for <br />the community. <br />1. To provide a balance af housing in price and product type to meet life cycle nceds � <br />the community the HRA's goals are: <br />1.�� Provide a link bet-�nreen Roseville seniors moving out of existing single <br />family homes and young families seeking first time purchase options. <br />Provide alternate housing for those seniors to enable them to remain a <br />vital part of the community. <br />].� Preserve existing housing and develop new housing in partnership <br />with federal, state and regional agencies and non-profit community <br />groups and private sector development partners. <br />1.:� Prohibit intrusion of incompatible land uses to preserve <br />neighborhoods. <br />L_� Develop and promote programs that provide choice and diversity in <br />the housing stock to include a variety of affordable housing options. <br />2. To promote the City as a safe community with a enhanced quality �f Iife and a sense <br />cf community, the HIZ11's goals are: <br />�. C Provide information regarding the importance cf quality and diverse housing <br />opportunities and close-knit neighborhoods to foster a sense cf �� r��m�uu� 4�, <br />�a. �� Increase awareness cf the HRA to all levels of the community both internally <br />and externally. <br />}_3 Increase awareness cf housing programs and the services � the Housing <br />Resource Center that are available to all residents, property owners and <br />others. <br />�..� Partner with police and fire departments, neighboring cities, school districts, <br />non-profits and consumers to foster a better overall quality cf life in the <br />region. <br />i.� Promote high quality and safe police, fire and ambulance services within the <br />City. <br />�,4 Ensure that residents have appropriate links to services throughout the City. <br />Rosevil�e ComprehensivePlan - 2003 Update Page 7 of 7 <br />
