Regional Parks System Statement <br />��� of Roseville <br />Key Changes in the Plan <br />The 2030 Regional Parks Policy Plan adopted by the Metropolitan Council in June 2005 is the <br />metropolitan system plan for regional recreation open space with which local comprehensive <br />plans must conform. This system statement summarizes significant elements of the metropolitan <br />system plan and highlights those elements that apply specifically to your community. In addition <br />to reviewing this system statement, your community should consult the entire 2030 Regional <br />Parks Policy Plan, the 2030 Regional DevelopmentFramework and other pertinent regional <br />planning and policy documents to ensure your community's local comprehensive plan and plan <br />amendments conform to the metropolitan system plans. A PDF file of the entire 2030 Regional <br />Parks Policy Plan, the 2030 Regional Development Framework, the Local Planning Handbook <br />and other regional planning and policy documents of the Metropolitan Council are available <br />online at the Metropolitan Council's website: <br />�7t��;��kvw��, ��tr+�co.��n.ka,�r�'t�la�,r�i �t�Ff�a rrre��crrk� � ir�eEiite.j3�it3_ <br />To meet the needs of the region in 2030, the 203(7 Regiarzcrl Far1r.� PolicyPlan includes the <br />following changes to the current regional parlcs system. <br />+� Designate two existing county parlcs and three trails as "regional" <br />� In ����sk�ington County, Pine Point Parlc <br />+ In �a�ti�� County, Tony Schmidt Parlc <br />. In kamsey County/St. Paul, three regional trails — Trout Broolc, Summit Avenue, and <br />Lexington Parlcway <br />� Acquire and develop three new parlcs. Search areas include: <br />� Northwestern An.a�a County <br />. Empire Township in Dalcota County. Please note that the Metropolitan Council approved a <br />parlc master plan and a boundary for the parlc has been established. <br />a B1akeley Township in Scott County <br />� Acquire and develop seven new trails. Search areas include: <br />* The Crow River, in Carver County and Three Rivers Parlc District <br />. Both a narth/sa�th and an eas�/we�t trail traversing Dalcota County <br />a An e�5flwes� trail traversing Scott County <br />. In Three Rivers Park District, a trail connectingparts of Balcer Parlc Reserve; a trail <br />connecting Balcer and Crow-Hassan Parlc Reserves; and a trail connecting Crow-Hassan and <br />Elm Creelc Parlc Reserves <br />� Acquire land with� the current boundaries of 30 existing parks and four trai�s. <br />+� Acquire natural-resource lands adjacent to six existing parlcs and six existing trails. <br />F-t <br />
