Development
The first edition of the Inrerratian.al PrapertyMaintenarrce Code (1998) was the culmination of an effort initiated in 1996 by a de-
velopment committee appointed by ICC and consisting the representatives of the three stalvtory members of the IraaUozl
Code Council: Building Officials sd CodeAdtninistrators International, [z1c (BOCA), Int:qt€or€a1 Conferaac of Building p#"i-
cials (ICB} and Southern Building Code Congress Intemational (SBCCI). The comitte drafted a comprehensive set of regula-
tions for existing buildings that was consistent with the existing model property maintenance codes at the time. This 2003 edition
presents the code as orip, inallyissued, withchanges approved through the ICC Code Develapment Process through 2002. F1 new ecii-
