<br />FIXTURE REQUIREMENTS
<br />SECTION 501
<br />GENERAL
<br />501.1 Scope. The provisions of this chapter shall govern the
<br />minimum plumbing systems. facilifie.s and plumbing �X[u�s
<br />to beprovided.
<br />501.2 Res�nsihiliiy. ihe vWnBZ' of the structure shall provide
<br />andttlaintainsuchglun�ir,gfacilities andplumbingfixturesin
<br />compliance with these requirements. Aperson shall notoccupy
<br />as owner-occupant oX pem3it another person to occupy any
<br />structure or premises which does not comply with the requir�
<br />ments of this chapter.

<br />REQUIRED FACILITIES
<br />502.1 Dwelling tsnits. Every dwelling unit shall contain its
<br />own bathtub or shower, lavatory, watercloset and ki[chen sink
<br />whichshallbemaintainedina sanitary,safeworkingcondition.
<br />The lavatory shall be placed in the same roam as the water

<br />502.4 Employees' facilities. A minimum of one water closet,
<br />one lavatory and one drinking facility shall b� availableto em-

<br />503.1 Privacy. Toilet moms and bathrooms shall provide pii-
<br />vacy and sl�all not constitute the only passageway to a hall or
<br />other space, or to the exterior. A door and interior loe'king dc-
<br />vice shs�lb e providedfor all common or shared bathraoms and
<br />toilet rooms in a multiple dwelling.
<br />503.2 Location. Toilet rooms and bathrooms serving hotel
<br />I units, roomingunits or dormitory units or housekeepingunits,
<br />shall have acaessby €raversing no# more 1�� d�� flight of stairs
<br />and shall hava �acaess from a common hall or gassagewaY•

<br />notexc eeda travel distaxace of 500 feet ( I52 m) fram the em-
<br />ployees' regular working area to the facifities.
