The proposals were due on August 24, 2009. Working with City Staff, Aeon prepared a <br />4 proposal requesting $297,100 in grant funds for both onsite and offsite improvements at Sienna <br />5 Green Phase II. Specifically, the request included: <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />Site Acquisition $95,000 <br />Design & Engineering $17,500 <br />Site Grading $40,000 <br />Stormwater Management $20,000 <br />Sidewalk Improvements $75,600 <br />Street lighting $49,000 <br />12 As part of their discussions with staff, Aeon suggested that the proposal could include a request <br />13 for the construction of a sidewalk along West Snelling Drive from the Sienna Green site to <br />14 County Road S. This segment of sidewalk is identified in the 2008 Pathway Master Plan as part <br />15 of the connection from Har Mar Mall to Rosedale. <br />16 In order to be considered for grant funding, the City Council must adopt a resolution finding that <br />17 there is a need for LCDA funds and allowing for the submission of an application by September <br />18 24, 2009. <br />19 POLICY �BJECTIVE <br />20 Sy applying for LCDA grant funds, the City is working with Aeon to secure regional financial <br />21 resources for Sienna Green Phase II, affordable housing project, which is supported by the <br />22 preliminarily approved 2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br />23 This grant application also supports the implementation of the 2008 Pathways Master Plan in <br />24 seeking resources for the construction of pedestrian facilities. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
