Department Approval <br />�A'' �, <br />Item Description <br />BACKGROUND <br />l�'�, <br />Jy <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: October 19, 2009 <br />Item No.: 7.e <br />City Manager Approval <br />� / <br />Adopt a Resolution Authorizing Execution of the 2009 American <br />Recovery and Reinvestment (ARRA) $400,032 Grant Agreement <br />In June 2009, the Minnesota Office of Justice Programs (OJP) announced Requests for Proposals <br />for criminal justice systems improvement projects with available funding through the 2009 <br />American Recovery and Reinvestment (ARRA) , Edward Syrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br />grant (JAG) program. This one-time (no match required funding) was available to local <br />government agencies. The Roseville Police Department submitted an RFP for a replacement <br />records management system (RMS) and wireless report writing (WRW) system. <br />The Roseville Police Department was notified that it had been awarded the grant in the amount <br />of $400,032 in September of 2009. Council approved acceptance of the grant funding September <br />28, 2009. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />To be in compliance with the Terms & Conditions set forth by the Minnesota Department of <br />Public Safety Office of Justice Programs Recovery Act Justice Assistance Grant, the City is <br />required to approve and sign three copies of the grant agreement for the above stated grant. <br />BUDGET IMPLICATIONS <br />None. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />The police department is recommending that the council adopt the Resolution set forth by the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs authorizing the execution of the 2009 <br />American Recovery and Reinvestment (ARRA), Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance grant (JAG) <br />program. <br />Page 1 of 7 <br />
