It details progress we have made as of
September 30, 2009. For these areas, 2008 was used as a baseline.
Fuel Reduction
Goal
Our 2009 goal as outlined in the Energy Action Plan was to reduce City-wide vehicle fuel
consumption by 5% for 2009.
Accomplishment
City-wide vehicle fuel consumption has been reduced by 4.8% as compared to the same time
period in 2008.
Summary
As we continue this trend, it would appear we may or exceed our goal of 5% reduction. We
will continue to follow the other recommendations in the Energy Action Plan regarding fuel
usage: no idle policy and efficient driving habits.
Thermostat Settins
Goal
Our goal was to set the office thermostats at 68 degrees in the winter and 72 degrees in the
summer.
Accomplishment
We have successfully kept the thermostats set accordingly for 1 full winter/summer cycle. We
have seen a reduction in total energy usage (see Energy Management Accomplishments
below) .
