Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, October 26, 2009 <br />Page 25 <br />Pust moved, Johnson seconded, approval of the Cuningham Group as the consult- <br />ant to complete the zoning ordinance re-write and direct staff to negotiate the con- <br />tract to be approved by the City Council in November of 2009. <br />Mayor Klausing expressed his appreciation to staff for their ranking and provid- <br />ing rationale in making their recommendation to the City Council. <br />Councilmember Pust commended the Cuningham group for including the graph- <br />ics and specifically noting the value of sign type illustrations for inclusion in a <br />sign ordinance. <br />Councilmember Roe suggested including consideration of conservation-based <br />zoning in the zoning ordinance review and areas that may apply in the City of <br />Roseville. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Roe; Johnson; Pust; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />13. Business Items - Presentations/Discussions <br />a. Discuss 2010 Public Works Work Plan <br />Public Works Director Dwayne Schwartz provided highlights of the proposed <br />2010 Public Works Work Plan, as per detailed in the Request for Council Action <br />dated October 26, 2009. <br />Mr. Schwartz reviewed funding sources, proposed utility work, in addition to ad- <br />ditional mainlining of sanitary sewers and storm sewers more recently identified <br />and not yet listed as further development of the projects and cost estimates are re- <br />viewed; pathway and right-of--way projects; and water main replacement along <br />Rice Street in conjunction with the Ramsey County reconstruction project. <br />Mr. Schwartz advised that each project would be brought back to the City Council <br />in the spring of 2010 for approval of any and all bids. <br />Councilmember Roe, under the sealcoat/crackseal category and related to the <br />2010 budget figures presented to-date, sought clarification on whether the mileage <br />would be reduced or increased. <br />Mr. Schwartz advised that the normal program was proposed, in accordance with <br />the Pavement Management Plan (PMP) indications, with eleven miles proposed <br />this year, presuming it would be fully funded, and if not, it would be reduced ac- <br />cordingly. <br />
