5. Published Notice — The staff has consulted with the City Attorney on how to notify
for this citywide map change hearing. Individual property notice is not required on
this citywide change to the zoning map, but rather published notice and a published
map. The notice has been published in the Pioneer Press on December 20,2003.
2.0 RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on January 7,2004 to discuss this issue. There
were no public comments. Staff has received only inquiries as to the reasons for the rezoning, but
no comments opposing the proposal.
Since this is a clear cut issue of re-designation of existing park and open space from an assortment
of zoning districts to the "POS" zoning district, both the Planning Commission and the staff
recommend approval.
3.0 SUGGESTED ACTION:
By motion, waive the first reading, hold the second reading and approve the ordinance
rezoning assorted city and county owned park and open space parcels from "R-1", "R-3A",
`I ", "PUD" and "I-1" and "I-2" to "POS" (Park and Open Space Zoning District) as
shown on the attached map dated January 26,2004, and listing of each parcel identification
number and the existing zoning on that parcel.
Prepared by: Dennis Welsch, ComDevelopment Director (651-792-7071)
Daeid Windle, il„r Coordinator2ong Range Planner (651-792-7075)
Lonnie Broldce, Parlcs and Recreation Director (651-792-7101)
Attachments: 1) Maps (Parlcs and Open Space), (Zoning Map with POS indicated)
2) City Code Section 1004.11
3) Listing of City and County Owned Parcels to be designated as POS
'Si'ici'nrnt7ieF6+Inn13S0J5#44539SlyafPllc„P;bP`F3534t 13+
