Department Approval:
i
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
'4f ana.r Rck icr+cd

DATE: 02/09/04
ITEM: 3.4
Agenda Section:
CONSENT
Item Description: Approve Maintenance Declaration for ApplewoodPointe Storm water
improvements
Background: The Applewood Pointe redevelopmentproject includes the construction of storm
water facilities on the City Park located on the north end of the development. These include
pipes as well as an infiltration area. Since this facility receives storm water from the public
property on this plat, the maintenance will be the responsibility of the City of Roseville. Also
included on this maintenance declaration is the newly reconstructed Arona Pond, Located in the
southeast comer of the plat. This pond has always been a City facility.
This project is within the Rice Creek Watershed District. We are working with the Developer on
completing the requirements for their watershed district permit. One of the permit requirements
is to file at Ramsey County a Declaration for Maintenance of Storm water facilities for the
infiltration areas located in the Northerly City Park
Financial Implications: The maintenance of Arona Pond has always been the responsibility of
the City of Roseville since it was connected to the City's overall surfacewater managementplan.
The conditions of the maintenance declaration should not increase our current maintenance costs
at this facility. The maintenance of the infiltration area will be a new responsibilityfor the City
of Roseville. However, we do not anticipate a significant impact to our overall maintenance
budget.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTIONS:
Approve Maintenance Declaration for ApplewoodPointe Storm water improvements.
Prepared By: Debra Bloom
