Special Joint Study Session: Roseville Citizen Commission Chairs, Department Heads, City Council <br />Saturday, 02/07/04, Harriet Alexander Nature Center, 2520 North Dale Street, Roseville, MN <br />DRAFT Discussion Notes - Page 10 <br />Chief Gasaway noted the inability to attract quality daytime <br />available candidates to serve as paid-on-call firefighters was <br />a nation-wide issue; acknowledging that while many <br />applications were received, the response time within ten <br />(10) minutes of the station eliminatednumerous candidates. <br />Discussion included whether elimination of one (1) station <br />and coordinating operations at two (2) would affect <br />response time; with recent independent evaluations <br />justifying two (2) stations adequately serving the City. <br />Support from Council for improving Fire Department <br />services <br />�, Collaborate with Police on response to medicals, <br />allowing Police of�cers time to focus on new <br />initiatives (i.e., Commercial patrol and traffic <br />enforcement <br />�.
